In the winter of 2007, while the Yarava Music Group had been inactive for a long time and was in crisis due to disagreements among some managers, a program titled IC, meaning Informal Concert, was initiated upon the suggestion of the group’s artistic director.
Following necessary negotiations and planning carried out by Mehdi Jalali and Shahrokh Khajehnouri, it was decided that these programs, which were also referred to as “Informal Concerts,” would be held at the private residences of various individuals. Immediately upon the announcement of this news, several people volunteered their homes for subsequent programs.
The start of this movement coincided with the death of the great German composer, Stockhausen. It was intended from the outset that the focus of these programs would be on modern music. To quickly bring the group out of its long silence, a program was swiftly held in memory of Stockhausen.
The first IC was performed in two parts: in the first part, Kiana Rahimi played works from the Classical era on the guitar, and in the second part, Mehdi Jalali performed contemporary music pieces by Iranian composers. The second part of this program was a prelude to the Guitar Recital Concert (Persian Night 1).
The program was held privately at Mehdi Jalali’s paternal home, and a photograph of Stockhausen was featured on the program’s brochure and poster. It is worth mentioning that among several suggested titles for these programs, the title IC, proposed by Farimah Partovi, was chosen.

This program was the second in the IC series, which, contrary to the original plan, reached a broader public. The concert was held simultaneously with the birthday of Shahrokh Khajenouri, and the preparations, including the poster and brochure, were done without his knowledge. It was only a few days before the event, when the posters were distributed around the city, that Khajenouri became aware of it. The event was met with great enthusiasm. Among the attendees were well-known figures such as Fozie Majd, Kiawash Saheb Nassagh, Amir Ashraf Aryan-Pour, Azad Hakim Rabat, Hossein Yousef-Zamani, Farrokh Ghahraman-Pour, Jamshid Moradian, and others. The brochure for the event, which included Khajenouri’s biography and explanations about the pieces, was written by Mehdi Jalali.
