Biography
He was born in 1948 in Tehran. Composer and doctor of philosophy. He lives and teaches in Berlin for more than fifty years. He studied Musicology with Carl Dalhaus, and music theory and composition with Heinrich Poos. In 1993 he received his doctorate in philosophy from Klaus Heinrich at the Institute of Religious Studies at the Free University of Berlin. Since 1979, he published numerous articles on various topics from religion, culture, art, aesthetics and music, and since then he has given numerous lectures in Germany and Iran.
His musical works includes three symphonies, orchestral pieces, works for piano, chamber music, pieces for orchestra with voice and piano as well as music for theater, performance and film.
TheYarava Modern Orchestra played “Mahfel” and “Borá Pish” in Rudaki Hall by Mirmehdi, in Da House and Tehran’s Milad Tower. These two works were recorded by the Yarava Modern Orchestra. He gave lectures on various subjects, including at “Khalvat-eMosighi” (Music Privacy) and “Sundays of Music” by Yarava. He is the director of Yarava’s research department.
