Biography
In 1374 (1995), he began studying the setar under the guidance of Hamid Reza Mohseni. He then became acquainted with the theoretical foundations of Iranian music with Ario Rostami, studied solfege for a period with Babak Aleheidar, learned the tar with Mohammad Zolnouri, and benefited from the presence of Jalal Zolfonun in the field of setar performance.
From the beginning of his artistic career, Alahyari collaborated with Mehdi Jalali. With his support, he formed the Traditional Iranian Music Group “Jame Daran” in 1998. In 2001, he went on to co-found the Yarava Music Group, this time as a musician, assistant to the group leader, and artistic director, continuing his activities alongside Mehdi Jalali.
In 2002, Alahyari traveled to Ireland to pursue further studies in control and automation engineering, where he resided until 2007. During this period, he maintained his musical collaboration with the Yarava Music Group and, during brief visits to Iran, participated in performances and group projects, including Music Privacy 4 in 2004.
In 2009, he and Jalali jointly established the Yarava Instrument House. Since returning to Iran, Alahyari has also continued his activities as a member and director of the executive committee and is currently the technical director and a member of the board of trustees of the Yarava Music Group.
