Soheil Tabatabaei (born 1986 in Tehran) graduated at Tehran Art University with bachelor degree, studied Santour in the class of Alireza Javaheri and Siamak Aghaei. Since 2011 he cooperates with Yarava Music Group as a performer, Executive Director, Scheduling Director and also leader of the Yarava Modern Orchestra.
As a soloist and member of an orchestra and various ensembles, he has premiered many pieces, some of which have been recorded and released in “Iranian Contemporary Music” CDs. Most modern pieces for Iranian Santour are performed by Tabatabaei e.g. pieces by Mohsen Mirmehdi, Shahrokh Khajenouri, Alireza Mashayekhi, Mehdi Jalali, Gelareh Soleimani and Babak Aleheidar.
