Sepideh Yaftian
Biography
Sepideh was born in Tehran in 1995 and is studying for a Master’s degree in Entomology at University of Tehran. She has started playing the violin when she was 9 years old under the instruction of Manizheh Reyis-Farshid and Amirteimour Portorab. She studied harmony and composition by Alireza Mashayekhi, after attending the music theory classes by Najmeh Saghir and Mrs. Ebadi. Meanwhile, she has collaborated as an instrumentalist in Seda-o-Sima School of Art and Literature and Yarava Music Group. Currently, she is a member of Yarava Modern Orchestra and Contemporary Ensemble of University of Tehran.
Collaborations with Yarava
Her pieces, Everything Has Changed Without Preambe, for soprano and fixed media and Somthing About 1130 cm^3, were selected in the 5th RKC in 2020. These pieces, alongside other selected pieces, were released on a CD titled Piece for Two or Three Channels by YMG Records. Shaghayegh Bagheri is the Soprano in her piece.
