Biography
Sajjad Khodaverdi (born 1989, Tehran)
holds a bachelor’s in electronics and a master’s in executive management from Iran. He is now pursuing a master’s in electrical engineering in France. He began music in 2004 with Setar and later learning music theory, Tanbur, and Robab with Mehdi Jalali. He studied solfège and ensemble performance with Hamed Zand Karimkhani and explored contemporary music in workshops with Jalali, Shahrokh Khajenouri, Susanne Zapf, Ulrike Brand, and Matthias Bauer. Since 2005, he has worked with Yarava as a musician, executive manager, and planning manager. He continues learning composition with Jalali.
Collaborations with Yarava
On October 30 and 31, 2025, Sajjad Khodaverdi’s pieces, Promenade 1, Promenade 2, Promenade 3, were premiered at Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art in the event of In Pursuit of Sound by the Yarava Modern Orchestra. The conductor of this performance was Mehdi Jalali.
Sajjad Khodaverdi’s piece, Pood-e-Tar, was one of the selected pieces of the ninth RKC in 2025.
