Biography

Peter Becker, born in 1934, member of the first jury of the Reza Korourian Awards 2016, passed away 5 june this year. He was one of the most important persons for the contemporary music in Hannover. He had a profound knowledge about music in general and music of our time in particular. He was a close friend of many important composers, like Helmut Lachenmann, Klaus Huber and Younghi Pagh-Paan. But most significant was his always un-selfish, friendly, passionate support for all engaged contemporary artists. We miss him.
