
Born on September 27, 1992, Arslan Khajeh Miri is an Iranian musician, percussionist, and educator with a background in Architectural Drafting and a Bachelor’s degree in Music (Tar performance). Beginning his artistic journey in youth, he has developed a multidisciplinary practice across traditional, contemporary, and experimental music.
He studied with notable masters such as Yaghoub Nowrouzi, Sahab Torbati, Ali Zand Vakili, Masih Karimi, Ali-Asghar Arabshahi, Amin Mirahmadi, and Nader Mashayekhi, and has participated in masterclasses by Ramiz Guliyev, Navid Afghah, Kamran Montazeri, Pashang Kamkar, Keyvan Saket, Arshad Tahmasebi, and Matthias Bauer.
Khajeh Miri is a member of the International Federation of Musicians (FIM) and the Iran Music Artists Association. With over 15 years of teaching experience, he has instructed various percussion instruments—including Tombak, Daf, Cajón, Darbuka, Drum Set, Handpan, Bendir, Djembe, and Dayereh—along with rhythm theory.
He has collaborated with ensembles such as the United Berlin Ensemble, Shaho Iranian Instruments Orchestra, Yarava Modern Orchestra, Aroosha Ensemble, Eftetah Percussion Group, Shaan Ensemble, Sahouri Daf Ensemble, and Goshayesh Ensemble, and has appeared in live radio performances.
His artistic partnerships include work with Tinosh Bahrami, Nader Mashayekhi, Mehdi Jalali, Alvin Lucier, Susan Zapf, Mohsen Mirmohammadi, and several popular Iranian musicians. Notable projects include the documentation of percussive sound effects for skin-based instruments with Mohsen Mirmohammadi and composing for Pino di Buduo’s theater production Invisible Cities. He has also contributed to numerous theater works.
Khajeh Miri has performed at major Iranian venues, including Vahdat Hall, Roudaki Hall, and Milad Tower, and received the Tehran Experimental Music Festival award (2015) with the Yarava Ensemble. His discography includes participation in Iran Contemporary Music Albums Vol. 1 & 2 and various singles across classical, pop, fusion, and contemporary genres. He joined the Yarava Music Group in 2011 and remains an active member of the Yarava Modern Orchestra.
