Biography
Arezou Rezaei is an Iranian composer and pianist based in Munich, Germany. She composes both acoustic and electronic music, with a particular focus on film and media composition. Her work crosses genres, creating a unique musical world for each project.
Arezou received the Young Talent Award at the German Film Music Awards 2024 and an Honorable Mention at the European Talent Award at SoundTrack Cologne 2023. In 2024 She was an artist-in-residence at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris, supported by the Bavarian State Ministry for Science and the Arts. She has composed for a wide range of projects, including concerts, films, and theatres. In recent years, her works have been performed by various ensembles at different cities and festivals.
In 2015, she began studying Classical Compositionat the University of Arts in Tehran. Two years later, she moved to Germany to continue her studies in Contemporary Composition at the State University of Music and Performing Arts Stuttgart with Professor Luxa M. Schüttler and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Composition with the highest grade. She then studied Composition for Film and Media at the University of Music and Performing Arts Munich with Professor Gerd Baumann and Professor Hansjörg Kohli.

Arezou Rezaei’s piece, Engasht, was one of the selected pieces in the 5th RKC (2020). This piece, alongside other selected pieces, were released on a CD titled Piece for Two or Three Channels by YMG Records.
